Constructed in Italy by Fincantieri, this impressive ship highlights the importance of the bond between maritime tradition and industrial innovation.
The inauguration ceremony, known as the Maiden Call, is a long-standing maritime tradition that includes the customary exchange of plaques and greetings between the ship’s captain and maritime and local institutions. This event not only celebrates the arrival of a new flagship in MSC's fleet but also reaffirms the company's strong connection to the Italian maritime industry and its commitment to the luxury cruise sector.
EXPLORA I is designed to offer an exclusive and cutting-edge travel experience, reflecting the high standards of comfort, elegance, and advanced technology. The debut of this ship is a key moment for the MSC Group, which continues to expand its presence in the luxury cruise market.
After sailing in the waters of Northern Europe, the United States, and the Caribbean, Explora Journeys finally arrives in the Mediterranean. From major Italian ports, MSC's new luxury brand will offer its passengers selected itineraries touching destinations such as the sunny coasts of Greece, the Balearic Islands, the historic cities of Turkey, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Amalfi Coast. The Italian ports included in the itineraries are Alghero, Ancona, Brindisi, Civitavecchia, Venice, Genoa, Lipari, Livorno, Marghera, Otranto, Palermo, Porto Cervo, Porto Santo Stefano, Portofino, Ravenna, Syracuse, Sorrento, Taormina, and, of course, Trapani.
